When
the internet was first hitting big, and everyone was initially excited about making their
own pages and finding good pages made by others, some people used to give unsolicited awards to sites that touched them in some way. Some of the people who gave awards are long gone now and you will find their graphic is no longer a hot link. Amazingly enough a good many others are still out there and the link is still good. Now whether they still have a link to me on their page after all this time is very doubtful. If they did, the link would no longer be good since I have changed servers. As more and more sites flooded onto the scene, fewer and fewer people looked for sites to give awards to. They started having sites apply for awards instead, or they just gave awards for link-backs; which to me defeated the whole purpose of awards. I don't know if anyone actually gives awards without application anymore, but I don't apply, so my supply of official awards dwindled accordingly. If you like my pages and want to nominate me for some award that you know of, that would be nice, but I won't nominate myself. I still receive many, many Kudos through my email box weekly, and every one of them is special to me, even if they don't have a graphic to post on this page. |
