My name is Beth a/k/a Sweetbabe. I am a warm, southern people person who feels there really are no strangers; just friends I haven't met yet. I have made many long-term friends via the computer. I've even gone to meet some of them. I have always signed my notes "WarM FuZZieS" and soon it became synonymous with me. I joined the computer age in the mid 1980s. I started out using my middle name as my handle, but I have one of those middle names that people were not quite sure if I was a male or female. Soon the local Sysop of the board I was frequenting got tired of the repetitive question and called me Sweet Babe so it would be obvious I was female. The name stuck, eventually evolved into one word, and I have used it every since. In 1995, "WarM FuZZieS" was initially brought online as a local Bulletin Board System using Wildcat 4.0 software. For those unfamiliar with the Bulletin Board System term, this means that my computer was set up with special software so that people could dial into my computer and chat, leave mail or forum messages, and play games much as they do on the internet today (except that I paid for the phone lines so that four or five people could call into my computer at once to interact!) Later as the internet grew and started to become more popular, I changed my software to the Wildcat Interactive Net Server, which allowed my board to be part of the fledgling internet. As far as I know I was the only BBS stateside using the WarM FuZZieS synonym. I was online from May, 1995 thru November, 1997. I really enjoyed being a Sysop and interacting with my users. Unfortunately local boards started dying out due to the large influx of the Internet. If by some miracle, you happen to still have any local boards left in your area, please frequent them and let your Sysop know how much you appreciate the hard work he or she puts in for you to use their system. In February, 1998 I came back online with the beginnings of this website. It has grown from there. When WarM FuZZieS originally came up in the mid 90s there were no other sites that had Warm Fuzzies in their titles, that had made pictures or drawings of Warm Fuzzies, that featured the original Warm Fuzzy Tale, or offered pages for you to send Warm Fuzzies to your friends. If you looked for Warm Fuzzies in one of the whopping three search engines that existed at that time, you found.... ME! Now search engines turn up 100s, if not 1000s, of results when you search for warm fuzzies and there's no telling what you'll find. I even got invited to "apply" to a Warm Fuzzies Site Ring!!! Which is, incidentally, how I found out the rest of them even existed. Guess it was foolish of me to expect that anything could stay unique on the big, wide, world web for long! If being copied is the sincerest form of flattery, then I must say I had a really great idea here. I owe a special thank you to Michael Glover. We met online way back when and became such good friends that we soon unofficially adopted each other. He graduated from college and moved away a number of years ago. We have since lost touch. My how time flies! Michael drew my original FuZZy for me in Ansi code soon after I brought WarM FuZZieS BBS online. Later I converted his Ansi to a .gif. It will always be very special to me. THANK YOU, MICHAEL! PLEASE DO NOT STEAL MY FUZZY FROM THESE PAGES!!! It IS copyrighted! And Michael, if you ever happen to come across this site or make your way back to this area I sure would like to see you again! This site has now been around so long that each and every page is hand-coded in the old HTML on Windows notepad and I never have moved over and started using any of the numerous HTML editors or so-called wizzy-wigs that came out and made sites so easy to throw up overnight. Many hours of painstakingly hard work have gone into my site. It is written for viewing in 800x600 since it's easier for higher resolutions to view things smaller than for lower resolutions to scroll across to view the page. For awhile, I thought it was growing too large for people to navigate easily since I don't like and didn't want to go to frames. I quit working on it and got caught up in life for a time. I have to say thank you to all the wonderful people who have written to me asking me to put more on my site and to continue to let it grow. You inspired me to work on it again and to eventually find it a new home when I lost my original server. If you are a newcomer here, you will find a variety of things from the whimsical (Tale of the Original WarM FuZZieS) to the serious (My Domestic Violence Story) and all kinds of things in-between. You might want to check out and bookmark my links you can REALLY use in your life page before you go. Instead of just being reciprocal links, a lot of research went into finding links designed to be useful for almost any need. It starts out with all the Federal Government Resources and then goes on to include other Legal Resources, Christian, Educational, Medical, and Military Resources, Virtual Tours and more. There is 'something' for everyone. What you will not find here is any of those annoying pop-up windows, in front, beside, or behind your browser window. There are no cookies being put on you, no banners, no ads, and no associates' gimmicks to try to get you to buy anything. You also won't find any music forced on you here as you go through my site; as I don't like sites that bombard me with music of their choice which I can't turn off. My goal is for you to have fun... maybe reflect a little... or just get a little boost of inspiration for your day. I hope when you leave this site you will have a WarM FuZZy feeling for having been here. If that is the case, then I have met my goal which gives ME a WarM FuZZy feeling! I try to check all links periodically (whew!) and remove any dead ones. A lot of the original links and places I got graphics are now long gone. If you find a dead link or a link that has moved to any site other than what I have it marked as, please send me a note! Sites go down and unfortunately porn sites have a habit of snatching up the url for the extra hits. I do not want anything on my site to lead to anything like that. With the exception of my Domestic Violence story this is a kid-friendly site. I brought up the Home Remedies section because it was asked for, and again, because there were no other Home Remedy or Handy Home Hints sites in the search engines at the time that those sections were added to my site. You will see that the Kudos, on the Kudos page, are somewhat old. That is because I generally do not apply for awards. Back in the beginning, people gave them out to sites they felt merited an award without any application processes. Once they started requiring applications and giving awards for link-backs you'll see that my awards stopped. For many years my mother, Sharon Aiken, was a mentor to me in the computer realm. She led the way. She brought up The On-Ramp BBS before I brought up WarM FuZZieS BBS. It was she who helped me learn to write .bat files and make the door games run and helped me when I felt like I was beating my head against a brick wall during those old DOS days prior to Windows. I'm sure that doesn't mean anything to most people but suffice it to say she taught me how to run my BBS. She moved The On-Ramp to the internet before I moved WarM FuZZieS to the internet. And she kept her BBS running long after I brought mine down, bowing to the pressure of the incoming internet. When I moved to a website instead of a BBS she is the one who hosted my site for years. In late 2005 even she had to finally admit it was no longer feasible for her to continue running her own server. It became necessary to find a new server for our web sites. We both got individual accounts at Webmasters and moved our sites. At that time a lot of my site was totally revamped and updated as I moved the pages to their new home. In 2008, my beloved mother passed on to the next world. My site was moved again so that I could put our two accounts together and take over her site to keep it running in her memory. Any time a site is moved it is a big job to make sure everything is back where it belongs, linked properly, and working properly. If you find something that doesn't work please shoot me an email and I'll move that item up on the "to-do" list. While moving my site again I have removed sections that didn't seem to generate much interest and hope to continue adding to the sections that do. I also have new material I am excited about getting up for your enjoyment. I hunt for somewhat unique items, that you possibly won't find out there on the web a lot, which I can use without breaking anyone's copyright. But of course, anything that is a hit will soon be out there everywhere. There is nothing I can do about that. If you find anything here in violation of your copyright, please let me know. If you can prove ownership I will be glad to remove it or give you proper credit. Unfortunately, I had to add that 'if you can prove it' thing because of numerous people trying to claim ownership for things I had proof none of them owned. You know, that few bad apples thing. I am first and foremost a Christian. More than just being spiritual, I very much believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. My hobbies are writing (which includes having many things published and participating in the National Novel Writing Contest every November), photography (I have had one of my photos published in picture Anthologies in 2001 and again in 2004), writing web pages, reading, collecting baseball cards, researching the beliefs of the various religions and last, but certainly not least, Bible Study. I'm interested in the Paranormal, ghost stories, esp, and other psychic phenomena and how that ties into religion. We have a 100 lb. white German Shepard and a four lb. Yorkshire terrier.
